01 Jan Best Living Walls of 2024
Happy New Year to all our friends and customers! Now that 2024 has come to an end, we wanted to share our pictures of some of our best living walls of the year. Take a look at our photos at the top of this post. You’ll see how many different vibes a vertical garden can have!
Living walls can be any size. They work indoors or outside; in sun or shade; on walls, fences or as freestanding structures. Every one of these vertical gardens carries countless benefits: whether it’s a tiny one on a domestic patio or a huge one in the public area of a workplace interior the benefits are the same. But all the different options requires very different planting.
How does the design process work?
Calum, our Rosewood living wall designer, looks carefully at the proposed setting before he starts. He investigates whether the wall will be indoors or outside, and what kind of look the customer hopes for. Then he narrows down the planting options accordingly. An interior green wall needs houseplants, or other specimens that are happy indoors. A customer might want a culinary wall in the kitchen, with herbs and chillies, for example. Or perhaps they want one for a hall or living room, with a tropical jungle vibe. Outside, the wall might have a sunny aspect or be set in a shadier location. Obviously this has a big impact on plant choices. Luckily Calum is extremely experienced at knowing what kind of planting will work in any given situation. You’ll be in good hands as far as the planting design is concerned, but Calum also listens to the customers’ own preferences too.
