So you’ve had a vertical garden installed, and you’re delighted with the way it has added something special to your outdoor seating area or your lush new interior design scheme. But is that it? How do you keep it looking good? The answer is simple. Regular living wall maintenance makes all the difference. Rosewood offers this service so that you don’t have to worry about it yourself.
What’s involved?
We often say that our vertical gardens involve zero maintenance from customers, and generally speaking, this is true. On a day-to-day basis the living wall takes care of itself and you don’t need to do anything apart from enjoy it. However, once or twice a year it benefits from some attention to keep it at its best. In the photo, you can see how good our office living wall looks after a maintenance session. So what do we do?
When our living walls team make a maintenance visit, they look at several things. First, there’s the planting itself. Are all the individual plants in good condition or are there any that look a little tired or unhappy? If so these will be replaced. The rest will be cut back as necessary, to promote healthy, vigorous growth. We’ll also deadhead plants after flowering and generally tidy them up to maintain the visual impact of the wall at its best.
Once the plants are dealt with, we also examine the irrigation system that keeps the living wall watered automatically. We make sure that the pipework is okay, as occasionally blockages can occur. In the unlikely event that any of the structural components are damaged, these can also be replaced or repaired. Basically, our living wall maintenance mantra is simply that if it needs doing, we do it!
You can be sure that with our help, your green wall will remain looking its best for years to come.
