17 Nov Living Walls for Events
For us, putting up living walls for events is always exciting, particularly when the festive season is approaching! If you run an events venue, a green wall can make a huge difference to the way your space looks. Living walls provide the attractive natural vibe of fresh flowers or plants, with the additional wow factor of being on a larger scale.
Will a living wall fit our design scheme?
If you’re responsible for design at the venue, you’ll be looking for something that has visual impact. We expect you’ll also want your living wall to sit well with the kind of events you’ll be hosting. Right now, a festive look will be important, but at other times of year you might want a soft spring feel, or a tropical indoor paradise. Our living walls can be planted to harmonise with particular colour schemes (although there’s always plenty of green!). We can also vary planting to include stronger or softer shapes.
Don’t forget, personalisation is easy too. Living walls can carry logos or any other words that you want to use. Imagine your vertical garden with your company logo in the centre. Or you might prefer a message to your clients: ‘Congratulations!’, ‘Happy Birthday!’ or anything else you like. If you’re a wedding venue, perhaps ‘Mr & Mrs’, ‘Mr & Mr’ or ‘Mrs & Mrs’ (or any other combination you like) would work for you. Logos and banners can be changed to suit a particular event or left in place for a whole season, depending on the kind of venue you are decorating.
The visual impact isn’t the only benefit a green wall brings to your venue. Both staff and clients will enjoy the sense of relaxation and wellbeing that a wall of real plants engenders. Similarly, although they might not be aware of it, their physical health will be subtly improved by the increased oxygen and the better air quality. There are so many reasons to include a living wall and no disadvantages !
But what about the hassle of caring for it?
You might feel that living walls for events might bring a load of hassle for you or your staff, in respect of watering and making sure plants stay healthy. You’ll be glad to hear that our walls use planting troughs that have full irrigation already set up – you won’t need to do a thing! If your living wall is installed long-term, Rosewood can offer a maintenance visit every few months to check up on its health. We look at the structure, the irrigation etc, and make sure everything is as it should be. We also tidy up planting if any individual plants need cutting back a little. And of course we would replace any specimens that might be struggling for some reason, although that’s rare.
So, with all the benefits and no disadvantages, why not consider a vertical garden at your events venue? Give Rosewood a call on 01727 811448 and we’ll be happy to discuss the possibilities with you.
